iOS · Screen Time

One push-up buys one minute.

Earned puts a price on your phone. Do the work — twenty push-ups, the dishes, half an hour of reading — and the apps unlock for exactly as long as you paid for. Run out, and they lock again on their own.

Built on Apple's Screen Time API. Nothing leaves your phone.

The exchange rate

Everything is priced against one push-up.

That's the anchor. Harder things pay more, easier things pay less, and every rate is editable — a household sets its own prices.

Four kinds of effort

Not a fitness app.

Push-ups are the anchor, not the point. Most of what's in Earned is the unglamorous stuff that makes a day go well.

💪

Move

Push-ups, pull-ups, squats, sit-ups, planks, a walk around the block.

🧹

Chores

Dishes, laundry, the bins, the lawn. One tap when the job is actually done.

📚

Focus

Homework, reading, studying, practice. Paid at one and a half times, because it's the hard one.

🌙

Care

Make the bed, cook something, journal, call someone who'd like to hear from you.

How a day works

Earn, bank, spend.

01

Earn

Count reps on a tap pad, or let the camera count them for you. Time a plank or a chapter on a stopwatch. Tap once when a chore is finished.

02

Bank

Minutes stack up in a balance. A daily cap stops one marathon session from unlocking the whole week, and a bar shows where today's minutes came from.

03

Spend

Cash out 15, 30, 60 minutes or a number you pick. A ring counts down. Stop early and the minutes you didn't use go straight back in the bank.

Enforcement

It really does block the apps.

Earned is built on Apple's Screen Time framework — the same machinery as the parental controls already on the phone. Chosen apps are shielded whenever no session is running. Cashing out lifts the shield; when the minutes are gone it comes back, and that happens in a background extension whether Earned is open or not.

If anything fails, it fails locked. When the app can't schedule the re-lock, the shield stays on. That's the only safe direction for a lock to fail in.

Just me

You approve it on your own device. Real friction — though you can also turn it off yourself. Honest about being a speed bump.

Set up for a kid

A parent approves it with their Apple Account through Family Sharing, and only they can undo it. This is the version that holds.

The app picker hands back opaque tokens. Earned never learns which apps you chose.

Proof

A tap isn't evidence.

Switch proof on and each kind of effort gets checked the way it can actually be checked — no honour system, no pretending a running timer means anything.

The camera counts reps

Body-pose detection watches your elbow, knee or hip angle swing through a real range of motion. Push-ups, pull-ups, squats and sit-ups. The tap pad disappears, so the number can't be typed in.

Timers get spot-checked

You can start a timer and walk away, so the camera takes photos at moments you can't predict while it runs. It's also the only thing that works for a plank, which no rep counter can see.

Chores get photographed

Nothing to count, nothing to time. A picture of the clean kitchen is the evidence.

Or nothing has to

Proof is off by default. Turn it up to a camera check, or all the way up to minutes that sit pending until a parent reviews the photos and approves them.

Keeping at it

A reason to come back tomorrow.

A 🔥 streak counts consecutive days with anything banked — the flame grows at a week and again at a month, and drops to 💤 when it breaks. Twelve trophies sit greyed out with what they take, so they read as goals rather than surprises. Seven ranks, earned on lifetime minutes, with the gaps widening as you climb.

What it costs

Seven days free, then it's a subscription.

One subscription covers the whole app — every activity, the camera counting, the proof photos, the Screen Time lock. There's no free tier and nothing held back for a higher one.

7 days free · cancel any time
Monthly $8 /month Billed monthly once the trial ends.
Yearly $80 /year Works out to about $6.67 a month. TWO MONTHS FREE

Pick a plan when you start the trial — you can switch between the two, or cancel, any time in your Apple Account settings. Nothing is charged during the seven days. Both plans are family shareable, so one subscription covers a parent and a kid's device.
